Churaumi Theater
In Hi-vision, the theater introduces the ecosystem inhabited by an array of life living in Okinawa's Chura-umi (Beautiful Sea), from the coast to the open sea, and the connection between the people of Okinawa and the sea.
We provide three film programs: “Life in Churaumi,” “Okinawa's Kuroshio Sea,” and “Okinawa's Coral Sea”. We hope you enjoy the beautiful Okinawan sea through this powerful Hi-Vision system.
While you wait for the showing of the film, we hope that you will enjoy the view of the Kuroshio Sea, and the spectacle of tropical fish leisurely swimming through its waters from the observation window.

Viewing of Churaumi Theater
We provide three types of Hi-Vision programs.
Life in Churaumi- We explore a diverse array of marine life that inhabit the coastal areas and open sea of the Okinawa Churaumi, as well as the relationship between the Okinawan People and the surrounding sea.
Okinawa's Kuroshio Sea- Here we introduce the Kuroshio Sea, the blue ocean that surrounds the open sea around Okinawa. You can also experience scenes of the marine life that accompanies the Kuroshio current.
Okinawa's Coral Sea- We also explore a wide variety of marine animals that inhabit the coral reef, sometimes called the 'ocean forest'.

Must-see Points
Encounter the unexpected! Enjoy the exquisite view- You can easily see the gigantic Kuroshio Sea tank while waiting for the film, as the back of the theater screen faces the gigantic tank. No doubt you'll see a few whale sharks cross your path because Churaumi Theater is located on the second floor adjacent to the gigantic Kuroshio Sea tank.
Please enjoy a magical moment as the fish swim softly by.
