About Ocean Expo Park
At Ocean Expo Park, you will find not only Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, but also a whole range of facilities exhibiting the rich history, culture and natural environment of Okinawa. You can entry to Ocean Expo Park is free, as are all parking areas.
There is an admission fee to enter Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, the Oceanic Culture Museum and the Tropical Dream Center. For details about each facility, please refer to the Ocean Expo Park website.
|A. Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium||Paid||The shallow waters to the deep seas of Okinawa are recreated here. You can also observe whale sharks and manta rays.
North Gate Parking Lot (P7) is the most convenient.
|B. Okichan Theater||Free||Okichan the dolphin and her friends including false killer whales put on an enjoyable show.|
|C. Dolphin Lagoon||Free||Here you can learn about dolphins special mental and physical abilities.|
|D. Sea Turtle Pool||Free||Five species of sea turtle are on exhibited here.|
|E. Manatee Pool||Free||Observe the manatees, origin of mermaid legends.|
|F. Native Okinawan Village and Omoro Arboretum||Free||The villages of Okinawa during the Ryukyu Kingdom Period, and plants appearing in Omoro Soushi, the oldest anthology of songs found in Okinawa, are recreated and grown here..|
|G. Oceanic Culture Museum||Paid||There are exhibit items including rare canoes and fishing tools of South-East Asia and the Pacific ocean. And also the “Tingara Planetarium” here.|
|H. Tropical Dream Center||Paid||More than 2,000 orchids are are always in bloom. Also you will be able to see great view from observatory.|
|I. Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum of the City Greenery Project||Free||Here you can see an array of plant species divided into specific area.|
|J. Emerald Beach||Free||Where the emerald green sea meets beautiful white coral sands.|
|K. Park Information Center (Haisai Plaza)||Free||The Park Information Center introduces park facilities, events and information of surrounding areas including the Park.|
Transportation at the Park by Park Trolley Unlimited rides for just 200 yen a day.
You can walk around Ocean Expo Park, but you may find park trolleys more convenient. The park trolleys take an excursion around the park at 8 to 30 minute intervals.
Some trolleys have lifts for the disabled.
