Services Available for the Disabled
- Q.Are there services for Guests with disabilities?
we provide a free rental service for electric wheelchairs(10) at the Information desk located in the Aquarium entrance.
Main access ways at each facility can be used by wheelchairs (including transportation by elevators between 1F and 3/4F). Our restaurant “Inoh” is equipped with specially-designed tables, allowing most wheelchairs to fit level with the tables. Holders of disability or nursing certifications should present your certification at the ticket counter to receive admission exemption.
- Q.Where can I find parking spaces for the disabled?
There are a total of eight parking lots inside Ocean Expo Park and they all have parking spaces reserved for the disabled. All parking spaces are free. For physically-challenged visitors or those with walking disabilities, we allow for cars to drive up to the Aquarium entrance.
- Q.Can a person with impaired vision enjoy the Aquarium?
There are many programs that visitors with impaired vision can enjoy. There are booths where a visitor is able to touch and feel living starfish and sea cucumbers, and also shark teeth and skin. We can also provide Guide Book in Braille and Audio Guide Book (CD) beforehand and a rental service for audio guide PDAs on-site. Please check the following for more details.
- Q.How can I find out about the Aquarium before I visit?
For those who wish to know more about our aquarium prior to visiting, we can send a Guidebook in Braille through the mail. Please contact the Ocean Exposition Commemorative Park Management Foundation.
